braun or phillips

Welcome aboard, quickbuy. Both are good brands but they're completely different approaches. Braun makes foil razors; Philips makes rotary razors. What's your beard like? How often do you shave? What's your budget? I need more information to give you a useful answer.
 
My approach remains as it always has been. One can't really recommend a razor because what works for one person may not work for another. Since you have no budget, I can only recommend you to buy a Braun Series 9 Pro + and a top of the line Philips, give each one a fair trial, decide which one you like best, and return the other one. Both companies have liberal return policies. Keep us posted.
