Electric Shave of the Day (ESOTD)

Finally got around to using the Phillips 2500 with Speick shaving cream. Got a very close shave. Not sure that I like it any better than a dry shave. As a decades long DE shaver part of the allure of an electric is the ability to just pick it up and shave. For me there is just something odd...

    Rotary or Foil?

Still prefer the 2500. Very comfortable and shaves close enough with no post shave irritation. Tried both the Braun 3040S and Remington F5-5800. Both shaved extra close but not comfortable. Also the noise was excruciating. The Remmy has terrible ergonomics being quite large and heavy. I am happy...

    Rotary or Foil?

Best shave yet with the 2500. Not quite as close as the Arc 5 except for the neck which is closer. I skipped the pre-shave and used it corded. It is noticeably more powerful plugged in. I’ll go back to the pre-shave tomorrow and see if there is a difference. My plan is to stick with the 2500 for...

    Rotary or Foil?

I did not care for Lectric Shave. I used the Arc 5 today. Very comfortable and closer than the Norelco except on the neck. I am going to use the 2500 a few more times to give it a fair chance. I also have my eye on a Remmington F5-5800.

    Rotary or Foil?

Much better results today. Still not as close as the Arc 5.

    Rotary or Foil?

First go with the Phillips 2500. A world apart from the Arc5. Much lighter and not in the same league in build quality. Shave is not as close but that could be my technique. I got it off eBay brand new in box for $21. I will try it a couple of more times and may PIF it if not satisfied.

    Rotary or Foil?

I now have a Phillips 2000 inbound. Got a sensational deal and figured it would be a good way to get a taste of the Rotary.

    Arc 5 Battery

My Arc 5 dry shaves take about 5 minutes. The battery charge reduces about 10% with each shave. Once the battery gets to 70% I start to notice a drop in performance. At 50% it is quite noticeable. My plan going forward is to charge it up every morning before my shave so it is always fully...

    Rotary or Foil?

I’ve yet to try a Rotary.

    Sejoy Shaver

Looking at it as a travel option for daily shaves. Currently use my Arc5 with no problems but thought it might be fun to try something else.

    New Shaver Choice

First shave with the new Arc 5 replacement set (ES-9036). Cooler, closer, and more comfortable.

    New Shaver Choice

I ordered the latest Arc 5 replacement set. Will give it a go and report back. I discovered that wet shaving with an electric does not appeal to me after several tries. I lathered up yesterday and brought out my Prewar Tech and really enjoyed it. I know there is a school of thought that frowns...

    New Shaver Choice

Thanks for the reply. I might take a chance on it since the Arc 5 and the Series 9 seem very similar.

    New Shaver Choice

I am also considering the BabyLiss F02 for something completely different.

    New Shaver Choice

I am a daily face shaver using an Arc 5 LV-65S. I prefer to shave dry but occasionally do a wet shave. It is almost time to replace the foil and blades. I read that the latest replacement blades will work and are more comfortable than the original ones. Before spending the money I am considering...
