my braun series 7 stopped charging last night and i dont know whats wrong with it the light comes on when i plug it in but it never actually charges just stays at the same battery level no matter how long i leave it plugged in

ive had this razor for about 18 months so its not that old and i take care of it pretty good i always clean it after shaving and dont drop it or anything like that so im really annoyed that its already having problems

i tried different outlets and even tried the charging cable from my wifes electric toothbrush to see if maybe it was the cord but same problem the razor just wont charge past where its at now which is about 20% battery left

is there some kind of reset i can do or does this mean the battery is just dead? seems really early for a battery to die after only a year and a half of use my old remington lasted way longer than that before the battery started having issues

anyone else had there series 7 stop charging like this? really hoping its something simple i can fix and not a dead battery cause i dont think i can replace the battery myself and sending it in for repair probably costs almost as much as buying a new one

thanks for any help

Of the two Brauns I had, one was rechargeable that I had many years ago, and it did the same thing. The charging light came on but it never charged. But I had had the shaver more than three years of everyday use.

I assumed it was the battery and discarded it, but I am not qualified to say exactly what would cause an 18-month used shaver to stop. One of the truths about rechargeable is, as you say, it might be cheaper to simply buy a new shaver than buy a new battery, then pay to have someone install it. Some people do install a battery themselves, but it can be tricky. Dripping solder on the circuits can ruin the shaver from what I've been told.

Wish I could be of more help, but an electrical store or electrical technician might be able to test your shaver to see if it is, indeed, a dead battery. Good luck, Ethan.

Welcome aboard, Ethan. Another poster recently mentioned how he replaced his current razor with the same model, and that's what I would recommend for you, as well. As you indicated earlier, it would likely be cost-prohibitive to send the razor away for repair and to have a new battery installed. Another piece of advice, get the extended warranty if the store offers it. I've done this a lot and it has saved me big money quite a few times on the things I buy.
