Switching from wet shaving after 20 years - culture shock

Well, I finally did it. After 20+ years with my trusty safety razor, work schedule forced me into the electric world. Bought a Braun Series 7 last week and I'm honestly having mixed feelings about this transition.

Don't get me wrong - the convenience factor is huge. What used to take me 15-20 minutes now takes 5, which is exactly what I needed. But man, there's definitely an adjustment period here. The shave quality isn't bad, just different. Less ritual, more functional. Part of me misses the old routine even though I know I can't sustain it anymore.

For anyone else who made this switch - how long did it take you to fully adapt? The Series 7 seems like a solid machine, but I'm curious if there are technique tips that help bridge the gap between traditional and electric shaving. Not looking to go back, just want to optimize what I've got now.

Brian, welcome aboard. The adjustment period is totally normal - took me about 3-4 weeks when I went electric in 1993. The ritual aspect is something you just have to accept you're giving up. But once you get the technique down with whatever electric you choose, you'll appreciate the time savings. Braun makes solid razors. Give it another couple of weeks and it should feel much more natural.
