The problem with Electric Shaving

Well the main problem I see.....People's expectations!
A lot of people seem to hope that an electric Shave requires no effort from the user. Unfortunately that is not the reality. I can achieve really good results , but it takes a little effort.

Proper prep, skin care, and razor maintenance/cleaning. Not really much different from shaving with a blade but some advantages

Does anyone wish to comment?

Indeed. I have a whole routine. Before I shave I always wash my face with soap and hot water. The shaver was cleaned and lubricated the day before. With my foil shavers, it's easier to see if they're clean, whereas my rotaries if I just rinse them I make the assumption they're clean. Lubricating is critical, I think, especially if the cutter touches the foil while shaving, or I suspect the cutters touching the combs on rotaries. With a clean and lubricated shaver, there is I would think less resistance, allowing the battery and motor to perform at their best. And you mentioned advantages...to me not scraping my face with a blade is a major benefit.

You hit the nail on the head, Brian. Proper skin and razor maintenance are essential to getting a good shave. Many people seem to think they can just pull out an electric razor and get a good shave out of the box. That's not the reality. Preparation is required.
