I've been really into Proraso lately. Good products.
 
Thursday 11th December.

I have been away from home for a few days so I decided to give my Braun M90 a run out. I bought it because I wanted a AA battery powered shaver. I wet shaved with Nuage Shave oil. This is my typical shave for travel.

Braun M90 shaver
Nuage Shaving oil
Jojoba Oil
Aventis Perfume oil

The shave was adequate. A single cutter shaver is never going to match a full power 'home' shaver ........but it did a good job. I was more than socially acceptable. Perfectly adequate for trips away

Good to hear. I have the similar-sized F5 5100 and 5800 and both are excellent, close shaves. My 5100 has NiMh batteries and they've done very well too. The aqua color is a nice touch too!

The M90 has some benefits over the M60 which was brought out earlier. As you know, it has a side trimmer, but it is also a few ounces lighter than the M60 which certainly is s plus. I guess because of tariffs, the price of the M90 has skyrocketed in recent months from around $25 to $40 on Amazon. I agree. A single foil/cutter isn't quite as effective as the dual foils.

An inexpensive shaver from the far east. USB C charging and a 5 bar charge display. 1 hr charge for up to 2 hours shaving and IPX7 rated.
I am actually very impressed. The double ring blades give a very good shave indeed. I probably should point out that I always wet shave with a rotary.
 
Happy New Year! I got my Prestige Ultra a few months ago. Very nicely designed, executed. My best shaving rotary especially because of the SH91 blades, which have been redesigned from the previous Lift 'N Cut designs. Still prefer dual foils for the closest shaves, though. Best wishes.

This is the only rotary shaver that I currently own and I have been using it for eight days. It was a post-Good Friday/pre-Christmas Day sale that I just could not pass up. Using a rotary is a whole different thing from using a foil shaver. My first shave last week took fourteen minutes to achieve a BBS comparable to a blade. Today it took me six minutes.

My best shave was three days ago using Cremo. A 10 hour BBS and no visible stubble for 18 hours (as good as my best straight razor shave). I am experimenting using different brushless shave creams/gels and regular shaving soap with a brush. There is a noticeable difference in the amount of time that a BBS shave will last using the various products.

A BBS straight razor shave takes me about 20 minutes, so this takes around half the time for "as good as".

G'day Brian,

Likewise, Jack Black isn't available in OZ. I had to get it from Amazon ($AUS54/£27) for the pump bottle. In addition to its excellent slickness, it can double as a post shave balm.

I've received a whole dump of head razors from Aberlite to do YouTube video comparisons. I will commence with using those soon. In the meantime, here is my shave for Saturday, January 3, 2026.
