Electric Shave of the Day (ESOTD)

Sunday 4th January

Soap and water face wash
Proraso Sandalwood Pre shave
Kemei KM-3215 shaver
Proraso Sandalwood Soap and A/s
Jamacian Black Castor Oil

Great close and comfortable shave. The turbo option is not really necessary.....but speeds up the shave!

Remington F6 Aqua
P&B Imperial Rum soap
Pashana Bay rum
Macademia Oil

A lot going on in the World at the moment. Shaving posts have suffered. The Remington seems to be coping rather well with a 'full lather'...... an excellent shave

Today's shave:

Topwill FX80 Palm Shaver--see below
Afta Pre Electric
Tabac AfterShave Balsam

I purchased this Topwill model on a whim for $18 on Amazon. See here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GN58DDF1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

I have been shopping for either of the two Panasonic palm shavers, based on the Arc5 and Arc3 architectures. I have Arc3 based version on order (open box off of Ebay, much discounted), rather than the much more expensive Arc5 based version.

I am looking forward to trying out the Panasonic ES-CM3A. That said, I have to give top marks to the Topwill for $18. Tremendous bargain! Close shave, 5 blade head that is quite similar to the Arc5 (although it has two longer hair cutters vs. 1 on the Arc5). Comfortable too, although not as comfy as the Braun 9 Pro Plus. This thing mowed through my daily shave and it's a close shave, at least as close as my Braun 9 Pro Plus if not closer. Very similar to what my Arc6 and Arc5 shavers do. Let's see how long the blade stays sharp. Construction is good quality, ergonomics are good, and it's waterproof. I'll try a wet shave with it tomorrow, which I usually find to be even closer than dry. This would make a great travel shaver, and it's USB-C charging! It's a chunky little thing but an easier fit into a bag than a full sized shaver. The Panasonic I ordered is thinner and lighter than this....I'll get that later this week and compare. But for $18, if you're looking at one of these, get it!

Excellent review, thank you.

I often use a pre-shave and a shaving cream, followed by a post shave balm. I realize that the pre-shave and the shaving cream are sort of opposite effect products. But I like the process and feel.

Wondering if others here only use either a pre-shave or a shaving cream before shaving? Thoughts?

I have tried three different pre-shaves (Williams, Speick and Blue Stratos) and they all make my hands and face feel greasy so now I just use any cream or stick that can be applied without a brush. My current favourite is Palmolive. Put a dab on my wet hands, rub my hands together and apply to my wet face.
