JUST GOT THE SERIES 9 PRO+ AND HOLY CRAP THIS THING IS INSANE!!! Been a Braun guy for 15 years and this is the best they've ever made. The shave is so close my wife thought I used a blade. Battery lasts forever. German engineering at its finest!


DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON PHILIPS JUNK. Tried the 9000 series last year and returned it after a week. Braun is the only way to go for serious shavers. Yeah it costs more but you get what you pay for. Anyone saying different has never used a real Braun. FACTS.

Welcome aboard. You've had success with the Series 9 Pro+. That's great. Again, though, as I always say, what works well for one may not work for someone else. The term "your mileage may vary" definitely applies when it comes to electric razors. It should also be noted that there is no difference between the Braun Series 9 Pro and the Braun Series 9 Pro+ other than the trimmer being upgraded on the Pro+. My advice to everyone remains the same. Try a razor, use it for a few weeks, and if it doesn't work for you, try another brand.

I am pleased that you are enjoying the razor. That being said, your experience may not be universal.

I've got both the Series 9 (regular, not Pro+) and the Panasonic Arc5 and your comparison isn't really fair. The Philips 9000 series you tried is actually pretty solid, but it's a rotary which works completely different than foil shavers. Comparing it to a Braun is like comparing apples to oranges.


I've been using the Series 9 for about 6 months and yeah, it's a great razor. Really smooth and comfortable. But saying "don't waste money on Philips junk" is just brand loyalty talking. Different razors work better for different people depending on hair type and face shape.


The Arc5 actually outperforms my Series 9 on cutting power, especially with thick stubble. The Series 9 is more comfortable but sometimes needs extra passes. Both are quality machines - just depends what you prioritize.


Glad you're happy with the Pro+ though. What made you upgrade from your previous Braun? Was it a big difference from whatever Series 9 model you had before?
