Can't decide between Braun Series 9 Pro+ and Philips 9000 Prestige

Been researching electric razors for weeks and I'm stuck between these two flagships. Both are around $300-400 range but I can't figure out which direction to go. From what I've read, the Braun Series 9 Pro+ has a 60-minute battery life and charges in about 50 minutes. Uses foil technology with 40,000 micro-vibrations per second and has 5 cutting elements. Everyone says it's the gold standard.

The Philips 9000 Prestige also has 60-minute battery with 1-hour charge time, but uses rotary heads with 150,000 cutting actions per minute. Has the Lift & Cut system that supposedly cuts hair below skin level. My beard is pretty normal thickness, not super coarse. I shave every other day usually.

Anyone tried both of these? Is the price difference worth it over something like a Series 7 or regular 9000?

Brad, welcome aboard. I've never tried the Braun Series 9 Pro+, but I have tried the Braun Series 9 Pro. The only difference is the upgraded trimmer on the Pro+. I used the Braun to shave my head for a few months until I discovered it was becoming clogged with hair. You may not have that issue if you just use it on your face. It's a solid razor, but I no longer recommend it for head shaving. I haven't tried the Philips model, however. Hopefully someone else will reply about the Philips.

If you're considering the Philips 9000 Prestige, I'd also consider the Prestige Ultra. The real difference is Philips shrunk the rather large, flat cutting head platforms when they brought out the Ultra. I understand when Philips did away with the round platforms and went to the larger flat ones, people said they had a hard time maneuvering around their nose and sideburns.. Also, the price for the Ultra through Philips was cheaper for me than Costco, Best Buy, or Amazon. I guess the best thing is they add 5 years to the 2-year warranty, so 7 years (except for battery) is very good. Good luck!
