Hello everyone. I am from Poland and my English not perfect but I hope you can help me. I want buy electric shaver but in Poland we have different models than USA and I am confused.

I have very thick beard, must shave every day for work in bank. Now I use cheap razor from supermarket but take too much time and hurt my skin. I want electric but not sure which brand best. I see Braun Series 5 for 150 euro, Philips 7000 for 120 euro, and Panasonic Arc3 for 100 euro in shops here. Which you recommend? My budget maximum 200 euro but prefer less money if possible.

Also question - can use with shaving gel or only dry? Some websites say different things and I am confused. Thank you for help and sorry for bad English.

Greetings,pawelPL

A little more information would be helpful. Is the discomfort due to tugging or do you have sensitive skin? In general Panasonic shavers have faster motors and can shave closer and faster but if your skin is sensitive they could cause some discomfort. Philips will not shave as close and a rotary razor is probably better with longer hairs which you will not have if you shave every day. The Braun has a slower motor than the Panasonic so should be more comfortable if you have sensitive skin. The Braun replacement cassettes are also cheaper than Panasonic replacement parts. Personally...if I had a thick beard and non sensitive skin.....I would go for the Panasonic. With a thick beard and sensitive skin....the Braun. I would hope someone else will air their views as everyone is different and I am only too happy to be corrected.

All the shavers you have mentioned are wet/dry and can be used either way. If used wet I would recommend regular cleaning and oiling as soap removes all lubrication from the cutting surfaces which would increase wear.

Thank you very much for your answer, culcreuch. I think my skin is maybe little sensitive but not very bad. The problem with cheap razor now is more from tugging, especially on chin and neck. It make red spots sometimes.

From what you write maybe Braun is safer choice for me. I like also that parts are cheaper, because I not want to spend too much every year. But Panasonic close shave also sound good, I am thinking maybe I can try wet shave with it to help skin feel better?

I will wait and see if other people also say their opinion before I decide. Thank you again for helping me understand better.
