Series 9 Pro+ battery life - anyone getting the full 60 minutes?

Just got the Braun Series 9 Pro+ (9510s model) and wondering about real-world battery performance. Braun claims 60 minutes but I'm getting closer to 50-55 minutes of actual shaving time. Been using it for about 2 weeks now, mostly dry shaving, 3-4 minutes per session. The battery indicator shows it draining faster than expected.


Is this normal break-in period stuff or should I be concerned? For what it's worth the shave quality is incredible, definitely lives up to the hype. Just want to make sure the battery isn't defective before my return window closes. Anyone else tracking their runtime on this model?

I've had my 9510s for about 6 months now and I get right around 55-57 minutes consistently. Never quite the full 60 that's advertised but close enough that I don't worry about it.


Mine did the same thing when it was new - seemed like the battery drained faster the first few weeks. I think there's some kind of break-in period with these lithium batteries. Now it's very predictable.


Your 50-55 minute range sounds normal to me. The shave quality is definitely worth it even if the battery is a few minutes short of the claim.

Welcome aboard, RMT. I'll throw my two cents in. My experience with my Braun Series 9 Pro 9465cc was similar. The battery is fine. If the battery does end up being defective down the road, the unit has a two-year warranty so you could always replace the battery under warranty since you like how it shaves. If you need a new battery, any Braun service centre can install a new one for you.

I notice on the Philips Prestige Ultra, I have a "clock" of sorts, with the percentage counting down. A shave consumers 3-4% though sometimes 5%. On the other end of the scale, my low-cost 13-year old Remington F3790 I got as a replacement from Remington still provides over a dozen shaves per charge. I often wonder if I got one of those "experimental battery" shavers that companies were testing. But I think the fact that the F3790 does not use a lithium battery might explain for its longer life, though the 17-hour recommended charge time is long for today. On the Ultra, it's hard to measure minutes as it only shows percentage left. I guess if I figure a 4-minute leisurely shave, that would be around 4%. That would mean 25 shaves per charge which seems a lot to me. Kind of wish it had an actual clock or timer.
