Does anyone else get annoyed by the constant new model releases

To be honest I think many of the higher end 'upgrades' are mainly accessories and software upgrades. I do not need the ability to connect to an app an I personally think that beard density detectors are a bit of a gimmick!

Travel razor recommendations. Need something small.

I have the Panasonic ES-CM3BKS511 700 Series It is a full power Arc 3 and takes the standard Arc 3 replacement parts. It is an excellent razor and shaves as well as its full size stable mate.A 5 blade Arc 5 version is available (900 Series) ......but it is crazy money. More than double the cost...

Panasonic Arc5 ES-LV65 died after 6 years - ordering the same model again

6 years is pretty good.....but I must confess that in my mind.....I would expect the battery to fail first!

    Panasonic Arc5 ES-LV67-K vs ES-LV97-K - what's the actual difference?

I would agree with Jim. I believe that all models in a series shave the same. Extra cost is due to the extra 'bells and whistles'

Electric Shave of the Day (ESOTD)

I must get my camera out again sometime. An excellent wet shave today again. Anyone else think electric shaving gets way too complicated these days?

If I want a deep clean I just use a sonic bath with water and a few drops of Washing up liquid

Do I really need to replace foils every year?

It really depends how you treat your razor. Mostly I wet shave. I believe that good prep, proper cleaning ( washing up liquid soap and water) and lubrication will extend the life of the consumables. None of my razors have cleaning stations. I prefer to clean manually. This process will extend...

    New Forum Categories

I think that a 'general' shaving category would be useful. For example....the ESOTD which I started gets lost in its current location as it is not really a review or recommendation. Most of the other new posts are put in the same place soi it becomes a real search to find anything. 'Forum...

Used electric razors - worth buying or avoid?

Cleaning is easy enough and lots of the clipper sprays are alcohol based for hygene purposes. My big worry would be the condition of the battery as most modern shavers are cordless only. It might last a few years.....and it might not!

No time for elaborate shaving routine anymore - help!

My congratulations as well I am lucky....all of that is behind me. I agree with Jim but would add that you still need some prep and in order to function to its maximum you need to have regular cleaning/maintenance of the shaver. That can be done when you have time. The shaves will definately be...

Men's electric razor for legs - any real difference or just marketing?

I am no expert as I don't shave my legs but that sounds like something for the Phillips Bodygroom Series 5000. Clipper edges and foil for closeness on the same head. For hygene worries clipper sprays are available which oil and sanatise.

    The problem with Electric Shaving

Well the main problem I see.....People's expectations! A lot of people seem to hope that an electric Shave requires no effort from the user. Unfortunately that is not the reality. I can achieve really good results , but it takes a little effort. Proper prep, skin care, and razor...

Braun vs Panasonic for tough hair - personal experience needed

I don't have really thick hair but on specs alone I would go for the Panasonic. Braun has a motor speed around 10000. The Panasonic has 13000. The more powerful motor should cut quicker with less/no tugging
